I like most of Paradox's games so I would highly recommend you get them, you just need to decide if you would prefer a WW2 theme (HoI3) or EU3 (Dunno what theme ). I never played HoI2 but I've heard it is the best in the OP Lol, Now me on the other hand can't even finish the game ! I can't get past the first few weeks! I just can't figure it out I LOVE micromanagement but **** the tutorial was worth squat! I mean it doesn't even explain the game properly. HOI1 was pretty good too, and i prefer it' approach to combat and technology to HOI2s. It took me like 30 minutes to learn all the ins and outs, and it's darn near impossible to lose, not to mention the lack of mods. HOI3 on the other hand is a whole other story, i love the 10,000 provinces, and the AI assistance in micromanagement, but it's so dumbed down it's ridiculous. I'm a total HOI2 junkie (world in flames, mod-33, mod-34 rock!) it would make my top 5 games of all time. I was literally at the brink of destruction, but managed to cut them off and surrounded them - even had a ******grad-alternative in Vienna, with 2 months fighting during the winter until I managed to reduce *that* pocket. At one point French and British conquered most of Germany and had half my Czech lands, Vienna and even moved through to the Budapest. My most enjoyable campaigns were with China (had a hell of a time keeping Japanese out, never finished it unfortunately) and my various British campaigns (usually I get into a fight with USA since they are the only ones with proper fleets XD ).Ī particular bonus is the mods, of which there are many - latest I played was Kaiserreich - I went with Austro Hungary, turned it into Danubian Federation and had so much fun. My main problem with it was that it was a bit too easy, once I understood it. It is replayable, relatively easy to grasp basic concepts yet still has a lot of depth. I had some fun with original HoI I spent numerous hours on HoI2 though.
